MIRANDA K. CARMONA

Miranda K. OwensMiranda K. Carmona received her Juris Doctor from the University of Kansas School of Law in 2004.  She graduated from Kansas State University with a Master of Accountancy in 2001 and in 2000 with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration.

Ms. Carmona practices in the areas of estate planning, business and tax planning for corporations, limited liability companies, and partnerships, taxation, probate, and tax-exempt organizations.  Ms. Carmona has been a speaker at numerous professional and community seminars regarding estate planning, corporate organizations and tax issues.

During law school, Ms. Carmona received a tax certificate and a CALI Excellence for the Future Award in Estate Planning Principles.  She served as the site and electronic filing coordinator for the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program. She also served as a law clerk for the Honorable Kathryn H. Vratil in the United States District Court for the District of Kansas in Kansas City.

Ms. Carmona was admitted to practice in the state and federal courts of Kansas in 2004.  She is a member of the Kansas, and Topeka Bar Associations and is active in the Sam A. Crow American Inns of Court, Women Attorney Association of Topeka, and the Junior League of Topeka.  Ms. Carmona was named one of Greater Topeka's 20 Under 40 for 2011 by the Jayhawk Council of the Boys Scouts.
