Harold S. Youngentob

Harold S. Youngentob graduated from law school at the State University of New York at Buffalo in
1969, and was admitted to the bar in New York in 1970. He obtained intensive litigation
experience under the guidance of Aaron J. Broder of the firm of F. Lee Bailey and Aaron J.
Broder, who were in the forefront in the drive to modernize settlements and trial methods in
the State of New York.
Mr. Youngentob joined Goodell, Stratton, Edmonds & Palmer in 1972. His professional experience
has since been concentrated in civil litigation with an emphasis on the defense of personal
injury claims. Mr. Youngentob is admitted to practice law in Kansas, Missouri and New York.
Presently Mr. Youngentob is a partner in the fields of medical and dental malpractice defense,
miscellaneous employment liability, insurance coverage litigation and intellectual property
litigation. In this regard, Mr. Youngentob has lectured on the subject of trial tactics,
medical malpractice and related topics. He has addressed bar associations and medical
societies, and has contributed to the development of concepts which have since become standard
in the trial of cases.
Additionally, Mr. Youngentob has been involved in the successful pursuit of monetary damages on
behalf of claimants, as reflected by the following examples: approximately $2 million in
recoveries for school boards and owners of other buildings with defective roofs; a
multi-million dollar settlement on behalf of a telecommunications corporation in a contractual
claim against its former parent; a substantial settlement on behalf of a workman injured in a
gas explosion caused by the negligence of an electrical contractor; a large settlement on
behalf of an individual and class injured by reason of a Ponzi security scheme; and a large
settlement for a non-profit corporation claiming to have been deprived of its intellectual
property.
Mr. Youngentob is a member of the American, Kansas and Topeka Bar Associations. He is a member of
the Kansas Trial Lawyers Association and The Association of Trial Lawyers of America.
He also is involved in the work of other civic and professional organizations including
membership on the Civil Justice Reform Act Advisory Group for the District of Kansas, and as a
mediator for the U.S. District Court, District of Kansas. He is an active member of the Board
of Directors of the YMCA and served as chairman of the Board. He is active in Temple Beth
Shalom as a member of its Board of Directors.
